Do I need a Tibet Travel Permit for this tour?

Yes, all foreign tourists visiting Tibet require a Tibet Travel Permit (TTP). We handle all permit applications on your behalf once you book with us. You'll need to provide a copy of your passport and Chinese visa at least 20 days before departure.

How do I prepare for high altitude?

We recommend arriving 1-2 days early for acclimatization. Stay hydrated, avoid alcohol and strenuous activity in the first few days. We provide supplemental oxygen and our guides are trained in altitude sickness prevention. Consult your doctor about altitude medication like Diamox.

What is the best time to visit Tibet?

The best time to visit Tibet is from April to October when weather is most favorable. May-June and September-October offer clear skies and mild temperatures. July-August can be rainy but landscapes are lush and green. Winter tours are possible but some areas may be inaccessible.

Lhasa, Yamdrok Lake and Namtso Lake are high-altitude areas. Travelers should be in good health and prepared for altitude changes.

The first day in Lhasa is kept light for acclimatization. Avoid alcohol, heavy exercise and overexertion after arrival.

Namtso Lake is at a higher altitude and involves a long driving day. It may not be suitable for travelers who are very sensitive to altitude.

Potala Palace tickets are limited and assigned by the reservation system. The visiting order may be adjusted according to ticket time.

Yamdrok Lake and Namtso Lake visits may be adjusted due to weather, road conditions, traffic control or local regulations.

The Great Wall section, Xian sightseeing points and Shanghai city route can be adjusted according to season, crowd level and final transport timing.

Photography may be restricted inside temples, monasteries or certain cultural sites. Please follow guide instructions.
